Bank van de Post switches to IP-telephony

Telindus is modernizing Bank van de Post through IP

Bank van de Post relocated in mid-November 2007 and decided to switch to IP at the same time. The changeover offered multiple advantages for this customer. In the new building, savings were made on cabling costs. In the process, Bank van de Post took the opportunity to ‘modernize’ a number of their applications, switching over to IP applications.

Telindus, Damovo and NextiraOne were contacted by Bank van de Post in order to replace their existing PABX.
Damovo proposed an upgrade from the existing Ericsson PABX to an IP enabled PABX. This offered the advantage of a limited investment since the customer could continue to use traditional telephone devices.
Some time ago, NextiraOne carried out the integration of Cisco Call Manager for De Post. Connecting Bank van de Post to this Cisco Call Manager, which is used by De Post, seemed a good solution to NextiraOne.
Bank van de Post passed over both proposals however and opted to work together with Telindus to develop a completely new solution.
On one hand, in terms of connectivity, Telindus installed 14 power over ethernet Cisco switches and 4 Netscreen firewalls, for 90k. On the other hand, in the area of applications, they installed Cisco Call Manager, unified messaging, contact centre applications such as IVR and call routing and ‘centralized call processing’ for 100k.
Business continuity was insured since the Cisco Call Manager (call processing) and voice gateway (PSTN Access) was stored in two datacenters. The customer’s servers are located in two datacenters for De Post, while the maintenance is still provided by Bank van de Post (housed model).
Telindus was able to offer Bank van de Post a more complete solution than the competition. The fact that the customer could work with a single contact for their ISDN Access and PABX support was an important differentiator. The customer was also satisfied with the knowledge and professionalism of our Telindus team, which was made up of Wim Libersens as Business Consultant, Didier Meurice as Project Manager, Cedric Van Labeke for Service Delivery and Donald Boudin as Account Manager.
