Explore Service Reporting: monitor your network at all times

A few weeks ago, Belgacom launched the new Explore Service Reporting, an integrated management interface that is available to Explore clients free of charge. It involves a user-friendly active desktop that allows you to monitor at a glance the proper functioning of the various elements of your network infrastructure and the services operating on it.

Belgacom is constantly looking for ways to improve the quality and efficiently of its operational services. In order to simplify the administration of our clients’ IT infrastructure, from now on, in addition to traditional reports on the performance of the Explore network, Explore Service Reporting will integrate ICT reports, such as LAN reporting, IP Tel reporting and security reporting.

From now on, simply logging in to the Belgacom e-services lets you use a unique web interface to consult prior reports available at Belgacom or Telindus. Thanks to this statistical information on the health of the network infrastructure and the ICT equipment, managers will be able to guarantee their end-users high-quality end-to-end business applications. The instant result: allowing you to cut costs and to anticipate the needs for infrastructure optimization by extrapolating from past performance. It is an indispensable tool for the proper supervision and planning for any ICT infrastructure.

A single interface for all of your reporting

This active desktop has multiple innovative features and the consultation interface has been modified. A centralized overview of all of the reports allows clients to quickly arrive at conclusions. In addition to the online help, there is a visual color coding system that immediately indicates to administrators which parameters should be checked. The intelligence of this interface also allows users to prioritize reports based on parameters ranked by poorest performance. This is an unquestionable advantage for clients who need to manage a complex network infrastructure.

Fundamentally, the Explore Service Reporting comprises reports on the level of service provided by Explore (SLA). This report gives you a crystal-clear insight into Belgacom’s operational performance, as well as the performance in terms of service availability and downtime related to disruption.

All the information at your fingertips

Clients can also order additional reports which are then automatically added to the Explore Service Reporting. This “enhanced reporting” allows you to monitor the technical availability of your sites connected to Explore, with regard to availability, bandwidth utilization, or device load (of the Explore router). This data allows you to evaluate the dimensioning of your network infrastructure and to optimize it as needed, exactly where it is truly required.

A more detailed analysis is also possible through “Application Performance  Reporting” which integrates the dimension of which applications on your network are utilized the most. In the case of saturation, it is useful to be able to measure which applications are consuming what bandwidth. This data can help you to take appropriate corrective measures: lowering the priority for certain protocols, thanks to the utilization of the quality of service (QOS) or blocking certain traffic at the level of the firewall. Ultimately, this will allow you to make optimal use of your network infrastructure without having to invest in greater bandwidth.

Through Explore Quality of Service, you can prioritize certain business applications in order to guarantee optimal utilization of your network and total user comfort for all of your employees. With the “Quality of Service Reporting” (QOS) you will have the crucial information concerning application parameters such as delays, jitter, and packet loss.

The security and reliability of your IT equipment

Security Reporting allows you to monitor the performance of your security solutions, in a version either housed on the Explore network or installed at your site. Explore Secured Internet Service allows you to view the availability of your Internet access, rank the most utilized protocols, and, for clients who have opted for the URL filtering service, a list of the URLs most frequently consulted by your employees. All of these solutions are geared towards helping you optimize the utilization of your Internet access. The Explore Secure Mail service allows you to check the efficiency of your system. The report informs you of the number of mails that have been blocked (spam, virus mails,…) and the percentage of mails delivered.

Device Reporting allows you to monitor the functioning of the IT equipment installed at your site, such as firewalls, Ip Tel switchboard, or switches for your LAN or servers. For each device, you can obtain the data on availability, bandwidth utilization, load,…
