Unified Storage Architecture for an efficient eHealth platform

Dirk Vereycken, Account Manager NetApp

Making digital data accessible for both the internal and external customer.

dirk_vereyckenToday hospitals are confronted with an explosion of digital data and processes, plus more highly demanding Service Level Agreements (SLAs) that are better attuned to the importance of the data and the permanent pressure on operational budgets. By extending Unified Storage Architecture and introducing ITIL-based processes and tools for internal invoicing, it becomes feasible to build very efficient, flexible and ‘shareable’ virtual server solutions.
Dirk Vereycken, Account Manager at NetApp, showed that there is a clear shift from application oriented silos to internal or external Unified Storage Cloud solutions for several applications. Cloud computing is a business model where IT is offered as a service. Scalability, cost efficiency and flexibility are the main drivers in this trend.
