Explore Application Performance

The VDAB has 5,000 employees, distributed over 220 sites, all of which are connected with Belgacom Explore. This grants access to the applications and data that is housed in the Belgacom-datacenter in Machelen. With Explore Application Performance - a tool based on Ipanema Technologies - the VDAB can measure the availability and performance of the applications. The tool allows the organization to give priority on the network to its business-critical applications. Read more

IPv6 : where are we today ?

One year ago, I wrote in this article that “technology is ready, but implementations aren’t”. So, where are we today then ? Progress is slow, but there is progress. The general conviction is to continue moving towards IPv6. The “internet of things” is still on the radar. Certainly when you consider the spectacular growth in smartphones and tablets. Just a few other examples: the expectation is to have worldwide 1.5 billion electricity, gas and water meters connected via mobile. Cars should become equipped with a SIM card. Read more
