Because the cost of an MPLS-network between their 60 branch offices – often in exotic locations – would have been exorbitant, Manuchar opted for an Internet-VPN. The trader and logistics service provider from Merksem is using the network as a basis to centralize its heterogeneous IT-environment at company headquarters. In the near future, the branch offices abroad will be using a new ERP-package from Merksem. That is why – together with Belgacom – Manuchar needed to first ensure the security and reliability of the network connections. Manuchar opted for managed firewalls and WAN Optimization Acceleration appliances from Juniper.
