Wednesday July 14th, 2010Growing need for security
At the beginning of this year, Symantec conducted a survey among 2,100 IT managers, CISOs () and CIOs (chief information security officer) in 27 different countries, all working at companies with 500 or more employees. An important conclusion that they drew from this study is that company security still remains one of IT’s top concerns because the frequency of Web attacks continues to increase.
Protection against new types of attacks is only getting harder - in part because of the complexity of new technologies such as cloud computing and virtualization. This means growing costs for protection. Not self-evident, of course, in times when budgets are tight. Fortunately, they offer a number of practical recommendations on how best to protect the endpoint infrastructure and company information.
